Opening a Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Account

1. Complete a RRSP Application Form (Note: This form is not fillable on line – please print and complete)

Please read, print and retain for your records the Declaration of Trust – RRSP document.

  • Note: the top box labeled Contract Number is for office use only

Individual Account

  • Please complete “Annuitant’s Information”. The ‘Spousal Information’ block should not be completed.
  • Designate your Beneficiary by providing full name, address, Social Insurance number.
  • Sign and have your signature witnessed on Page 1 in the Beneficiary Designation block as well as on page 2 of the application form (witness cannot be the beneficiary).

Spousal Account

  • To open a spousal account, the “Annuitant’s Information” block includes the name and information regarding the spouse on whose behalf the account is opened.
  • The name and information regarding the contributing spouse, who is intended to receive the tax benefit, is included in the “Spousal Information” block.
  • Sign and have your signature witnessed on Page 1 in the Beneficiary Designation block as well as on page 2 of the application form (witness cannot be the beneficiary).

2. Complete the RRSP Deposit Form

How do I fund my RRSP account?

Send signed application and deposit forms together with a cheque made out to “ABC District Investments Ltd” to the ABC District Office (7100 Ada Blvd, Edmonton, AB T5B4E4).

You may also choose to make monthly deposits by means of the preauthorized payment plan. Simply send your signed application form together with a signed EFT Form – Pre-authorized Credit / Debit Agreement and a VOID cheque for the account from which withdrawals are to be made.

OR

Complete the RRSP Transfer Form to request a transfer from another financial institution to ABC District Investments Ltd.

How can I add to my RRSP?

To add to your existing account please complete the RRSP Deposit Form. Copies of the completed application and an instant statement will be forwarded to you after processing a deposit, the first electronic funds transfer or once a transfer from another financial institution has been processed by the ABC District Investments office

Income Tax receipts will be sent at the end of the calendar year for months March through December 31 and again in early March for the months of January and February of each year.

Each investor in the ABC District Investments RRSP Plan is totally responsible for ensuring that their investments are within the limits set by Revenue Canada.
