Church Extension Fund was created in 1921. The primary goal of Church Extension is to provide loans with reasonable interest rates to congregations, schools and other entities that need property, buildings or renovations to carry on the ministry of reaching souls for Christ.
Church Extension is a Team Ministry
Church Extension provides opportunities for congregations, schools and individuals to make investments. Investors receive a spiritual return in knowing that their investments are working to extend Christ’s kingdom and at the same time receive a good financial return. Church Extension, in return, uses these funds to provide loans for capital projects of congregations, schools and other institutions of Lutheran Church-Canada.

Church Extension Fund understands the importance of furthering the Lord’s work, and we strive to provide loans that best meet the needs of the borrowers. Personal, professional service is a priority at Church Extension. At the same time, we remain focused on mission and ministry. CEF supports the Great Commission, and we strive to fulfill our mission through a solid partnership of investors and borrowers.
CEF Loans Help Other Ministries
When you borrow from CEF, your loan is helping other churches and schools, too. As CEF loans are repaid, these funds become available for other congregations, schools, and other ministry entities to acquire loans for their future building projects.
